Virtual box will update

Poll: I've got it working in the latest version of Virtualbox however the mouse intermittently jumps half way across the screen making it essentially useless.
I'm not familiar enough with Virtual box to know if it is a virtual box or windows 8 problem.

I had boat loads of errors when I was trying to install Windows 8 on a VM on the latest version of VMware Workstation. Found a spare 2.5" SATA HDD @ 5400RPM. Installed the 32bit version because I need a dual layer DVD for the 64bit version which has all the developer tools since it's close to 5GB.

ps - IE10 has a spell checker built in!!!!!!

Yes, IE10 has a spell checker built in!!!! Pay rise to the guy who finally convinced his boss in IE team to add this!

More random updates:

Chrome works fine, or appears to for now at least, decided I may as well try installing catalyst and see if that works at all

alt-tabbing gives all the apps youve had open, kinda annoying and havent found a way to close them

well steam just opened when i ran as admin from my w7 install... interesting

oh and the new boot manager screen is a lot more UEFI like, no more dos type stuff

"Application has requested to make changes to windows" this is new? - installing catalyst

Catalyst seems to be working NO RESTART, maxxed 300fps on portal via steam and above method

That sounds just like UAC messages, nothing new.

Got it running in VirtualBox fine, but its a little slow and the resolutions were nasty. Most probably because its a VM. Really want to try it on my computer as a local install but I'm too scared. haha

I think I'm gonna sacrifice my laptop and load it on.
Just finished downloading the x64 dev-tools verison, and currently loading it onto a USB using the Windows 7 option on Universal USB Installer.
Hopefully that will work.

Got it running in Parallels, but not reliably. I often get the screen going completely black. I know W8 is still running though, as sending a Ctrl+Alt+Delete will take me back to the Metro UI with options to lock, log out and log in as a different user. But once it gets to the "black screen of nothingness" I can't do anything useful. I'm also having problems with a lot of the Metro apps. I'll click on them to start, the splash screen will come up, but then the app will wink out, and I'll be presented with the "green screen of nothingness". Clicking on the screen wil then dump me back in the main Metro UI.

But thats a lot better than I get with Fusion, which won't even install it. Any attempt is met with this error.

Thanks.
It turns out Universal USB installer just came up with an out of disk space error anyway.
I have just performed the manual diskpart NTFS trick now and loading the files on.

But yeah, I suppose that tool would have done it all for me. :P
