For those of you who are wondering when the next end of the world will be it is 19 May 2013 as predicted by Ronald Weinland who stated that Jesus Christ would return and the world would end on this day. This according to Wikipedia end of the world dates.

If you look up his name you see that he has been found guilty of not paying tax and has a prison sentence starting soon. It's hard to believe that there are followers who believe this stuff. People will give you money if you make them believe the world is ending soon - incredible.

19 May 2013 not long to wait and another excuse for an end of the world party and a chance to meet Jesus as well - I'm looking forward to it.

I'm still here, meaning I am now at work meaning the world has not ended.

What a letdown.

End of the world resolution: have more children, and buy more guns and chicken coops. You can never have too many chicken coops.

The Mayan's never stated or predicted the end of the world. That dribble is mainly the media hyping it up and people propagating this idea.

The 21st is actually the end of the current cycle (Baktun) based on the Maya long count calendar, and the start of the new cycle (Baktun). The Mayan's had a different concept of time than the modern world.

More at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baktun

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesoamerican_Long_Count_calendar

Just had to add that I was also annoyed at TV3's nightline where they kept on repeating that the Mayan's had predicted the end of the world on 21st of December.

Most likely :-) Just get tired of most people I've spoken to believing everything the media says.

There is so much wishy-washy new-age puff about this floating around in internets land.

"It's not the end maaaaan, but there'll be a shift in global consciousness... you just won't feel it because you're being negative... those of us who are in tune will be raising the vibration of the... um... energy... thing..."

Self-fulfilling faery tale meta-twaddle.

I visited Sedona (Arizona) in the late 90s and can say there are lots of gullible people around...

I'd guess there's probably been an increased awareness of world end predictions with the spread of the internet (and probably an increased number of predictions too).

It's the flip side of internet openness.... Wikipedia and Doctor Google, are right and will make conspiracy theories plausible.

The world will end when the internet does.
