Hi,

I'm in the market for a good quality radio alarm clock with an iPhone compatible dock.

So far I've looked at the Boston Acoustics Duo-i Plus and will try and view the Yamaha TSX-70 this weekend.  This should give you an indication of what level of equipment I am after.

I currently have a JBL On Time unit, but unfortunately it is not compatible with the iPhone.  It will allow me to play music from my iPhone, but will not charge it and this is a must.

What ideas can people throw my way?

Cheers.

I have got an iHome IP90 (Clock, Radio, iPod dock). Does the job with iPhone and charging. Pretty good sound and comes with a remote.

Can't you just use the phone it's self to be the radio/alarm?

I should not be here

I could do, but I kinda like to listen to decent quality sound (sans headphones).  The iPhone speaker doesn't quite cut it...

I have the Panasonic SA-PM42 which is a micro system rather than a clock radio, but it's only around $200 at JB Hifi and offers much better sound quality than you'd get from a smaller unit.

The only catch is that it brings up the 'this device isn't designed for iPhone' nag screen, but I can confirm that it charges the iPhone and doesn't suffer from any RF interference. It's a shame the nag screen can't be turned off.

The B&W Zepplin Mini could work well in combination with an alarm app...
It offers a decent footprint, acclaimed sound and it looks okay I suppose.

Just to close this thread off, I managed to pick up the Boston Acoustics Duo-i here in NZ.  A retailer had it listed for $399 via Pricespy, but also had it listed on Trademe for $349.  So I waited until the last hour of that action and placed my $349 bit.  It arrived at my office this morning!

Thanks to all for their help.
