Note that the bulk of it is "Invoice print fee"...

Seriously, is this coming from Compass? Could it be a scam, someone trying to get people to pay fake invoices into the scammer account?

I've seen this sort of thing years ago when I was doing AR, we got all these random invoices with charges like this on them.

Contacted the companies in question to ask about it and lo & behold, wasn't their bank account or their invoice. Was a small figure that I would imagine a lot of companies might just pay.

Management reported it to the Police, not sure if anything ever came out of that.

I rang and confirmed with Compass, they admitted the mistake and will credit the account.

Wow

really? Their mistake?

I was trying to call them during an outage the other day and their phone system lets you go on hold for 10 mins and then tells you to call back later and hangs up on you. Another fail.

That IVR sounds frustrating, and their customer service sounded rather average.
I was also surprised he wasn't more apologetic considering it was a rather large cock-up by them.

That has definately got to be a nominee for the wally of the year award. I wonder how much it cost for them to send that as you take the paper, the ink, the envelope and postage into account and then send it to a non existant customer. The part I will go wow at is the prompt payment discount of 4c if paid by the 20th. Laughing
