Congratulations to the new management team at WxC.  Great to see increased local ownership of one of the key players in this sphere.

Plus we had key staff who wanted to get more involved and more focused on the opportunities that were opening up for us. With the MBO, circumstances have aligned, and it’s allowed us to lock in a new key management team, at a time when the market is looking fantastic for WxC.

No doubt Phil is one of those "who wanted to get more involved and focused..." so I would like to wish him all the very best as he grabs hold of this opportunity and runs with it.

It is good to see that another overseas company hasn't come in and brought out another technology company.
I would like to see more technology companies on the NZX for NZ investors to invest in.

Congratulations.

The article suggest a heavy focus on the sip / phone side of the business with no mention of the ISP side. Will Xnet be advertised more as well? Xnet is fully owned by WXC - right?

That's fantastic news.  Good luck to all involved (not that you need it).

OH, I think I'll jump in now before anyone else: does this mean you are going to launch a 1TB plan for $10 per month with free SRP527 and unlimited calling?
Cheers!
:) :)

Seriously though, look forward to seeing what the future has in store from WxC!

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
Geekzone special price: $150* for master splitter install, normally $200+ through your ISP. Auckland and Waikato areas.
*Travel charges may apply. Additional costs may apply for complex installs.
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, RBI Rural Broadband. Also a dealer for WorldxChange.

...and the same "high" level of support as Telstra Clear (saw the Fair Go repeat this afternoon, apparently their "most popular ever" plan became "too popular").

Businesses and assets stay local if they are worth paying for by locals. Great work WxC, you provide top notch services and can proudly be called a Kiwi success that Kiwis (and adopted Kiwis) are willing to invest in.

Well I 'churned' to TCL last week for 12 months after the fairgo episode ;-) in a flawless cut over. Significant testing has shown no significant performance difference over WxC. I changed because I could not ignore a $350+ saving in the 1st year. I'm sure WxCs bottom line won't miss my dsl.

But the good news is that out of loyalty to WxC I have kept my tolls with WxC. It also leaves the door open when I get UFB and or change to VoIP via VFX. I wish to extend my thanks to the WxC team and Phil for services rendered over the years despite the ups and downs

Well done WxC I'm happy to still be a customer - stay with it !
