A Big announcement and a new product called Open VFX…….

WxC will now allow you to bring your own device to VFX network… Yes that’s right you may now bring any SIP device and connect it to the VFX service .

A couple of points to note about support.  It will work in a similar fashion to Asterisk, It's up to you to configure the device with the SIP settings provided.  The helpdesk will still investigate any possible internet issue if you're with Xnet.  If you have problems setting up the device you can try the manufacturer or the ever helpful presence on Geekzone for support

More info will be added in the coming weeks to the website which will list some basic requirements and info, presently just a small info announcement on our hardware page.

http://www.xnet.co.nz/vfx/hardware.shtml

So “Open VFX” is available now, so feel free to ring in and sign up with your own device.

You have always been able to bring your own device and use an Asterisk user profile - but WxC never provided any support. It's simply now "official" that non supported devices are allowed without having to ask for an Asterisk account.

Yes we will Antonios, the product will allow you to use Softphones as well.... which one are you using ?.

I'm playing around with iSIP at present not to bad and uses G722 as well... bit fiddly setting up but overall pretty good.

The clients and Open VFX devices will have to support seperate user and auth id's however..... Wink

Still not found the budget for your own SBC yet? Smile

Soft Clients work fine - providing they have support for AuthID and SIP UserID's.
