We are looking at implementing some game servers here at snap! and wanted to get your opinion on what games, mods etc we should put on them!

We are very keen for you guys to post up here what you would like to see and we will see what we can do out of the most popular ones!

I think games, such as UT and Quake 3 should be a given. Possibly steam servers for games such as Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty, although their are the Orcon servers I think they are based in Auckland and are mostly full during populated hours.

There is also my personal favourite, Stargate - The Last Stand ( http://www.moddb.com/mods/stargate-the-last-stand )

I thought i was having a Deja-vu moment there but it must have been another ISP that asked for a list of games somewhat recently..

I would say Battlefield 3 but there are so many ON3 servers its ridiculous, only 3 or 4 of the 30 odd servers they have are ever played so i wouldn't bother.
Having a look at the most popular games on Steam would be a good idea.
Once Natural Selection 2 is out of beta and more popular a good NZ server would be appreciated!

Only problem with BF3 is that EA are super fussy about who gets to host their games so might be an issue to get those.
I just remember the big discussions when bad company 2 first came out and no one could get server hosting.

Hey guys,

These servers will be *Christchurch* only based. There will be none in other locations unfortunately!

Christchurch and Quake3. Seems fitting.

Also, TF2. Always good to have NZ servers.

Would be really great to see some Chch based servers actually, awesome work.

My first instinct is to say BF3 as I dont play a lot of games these days so that's my main go-to for online multiplayer; but as previously mentioned you need to be a ranked server provider with EA to do so, and it's pretty difficult to track down what that actually entails. And yeah there are already quite a number of servers with ON3.

TF2 would also be cool, I agree.

Just as a side note, I've been a fan of you guys for a while but stuck with another ISP (ain't broke and all that), but your offerings have become more and more appealing so I finally made the jump this week. Changeover happened today and it happened flawlessly, zero hassle. Well done :)

counter strike etc,

infact i'ld be a mod for cs, cs:s, gmod and tf2

set them up many of times.

snap should also think about hosting game servers like orcon did, i mean that gamers.co.nz before it got shut down due to the cost of colocation.

there is no nz providers for gameservers out there

That's not a bad idea and useful for marketing and advertising on-top of the people paying for the servers, I am sure many a gamer would be enticed to join an ISP offering gameservers, maybe free traffic to play on them also if your a Snap customer.
