reven: generally i like the new site, very sexy. my only compliant is when i run out of bandwidth (which i do often) i have to login and buy more. on the old site there was a username/pass on the start page. the new site i have to go to another page from the start page to login. and when you are on dialup speed, the wait between pages is annoying. the old site was really snappy when on dialup (i assume you pimped out the caching/minification/blah blah blah of the site)

Shouldn't be an issue anymore, as of a few months ago when you hit your cap, Snap services weren't rate limited.

mattRSK: Hi, is it possible for existing customers to change to one of the new plans. The $75 plan with the 50GB extra is a serious saving for me compared to what I am on.

Great new site from an excellent company. Welcome back.

yes i have just changed, saved me $30 a month

and 30 seconds later I have changed over too. Very easy thank you Snap.

Can you change online or did you have to give them a call? Currently on plan C paying about 100 bucks a month but can get 30 gigs instead of 20 for about the same price if I swap to a new plan.

Hi GJM

At the moment, you'll need to call us. We are putting up a new feature on the website to allow customers to change their plans online :)

Hi Ralph;
I'm not a huge fan of your new site - looks like the marketing people triumphed over user feedback to me.  (You did do user evaluation didn't you??)

I find it frustrating to find a list of services and prices.  Clicking BACK AND GO buttons is not that wonderful. Sometimes a few nicely laid out html pages (how 90s!) should be included in any fancy design.

Asides all that, do business customers only have the option to choose packaged DSL and phone services?  That's how it appears, and I couldn't find any other pages to indicate otherwise.  Also the call prices are OK (if its using POTS) but high if its VOIP (which is how I will go).  What are the timelines to offer free local calls on the north island.  And finally, can you get naked dsl plans for business customers?

We don't have timeframe to have this option in the North Island yet but I'll post it on Geekzone once it's available.

We are offering Naked DSL for biz customers and we are updating the website soon for the option

Thanks for your other website feedbacks, I'll pass it to the Devs

RalphFromSnap:
Thanks for your other website feedbacks, I'll pass it to the Devs

While your passing feedback to them, could you please pass the following.

  • Having giant marketing banners when trying to see the plans is not the smartest idea. (especially when doing it from your mobile (3mb just to complete a signupform is insane), it actually makes it really hard to see what your offering.

  • When signing up for a plan, as you are going through the steps it does not show what you have selected from one page to the next. Does not total up all the line items. One page with sections to fill out would be more usable...

  • Then hits you with a total cost that is incorrect at the end (i know i know postage cost, wtf?), lucky i spotted it...

  • Vodafone not an option for a previous phone provider. (i realise its the same as ihug, but normal people wont when there bill says vodafone...)

  • When trying to sign up on a mobile the watermark/input filter used on the creditcard number field prevents entry of said credit card number, thereby preventing completion of the form on mobile devices, its also redundant, people know how to put a creditcard number in, no need to use some arcane format, just trim the spaces or dashes check the length is correct.

  • Same for expiry, just do two separate text boxes don't try to be smart and combine them using a watermark/input filter.

  • No checks at any stage for faxing options, or transfer of fax numbers.

  • When entering phone details (https://myaccount.snap.net.nz/signup/home/?package=1&router=) no ability to go back.

  • when entering phone details no ability to see what your've previously selected.

And the major one.

NO SUPPORT INFO

Yep great new site and now i'm stuck trying to set up a connection trying to remember the connection details and find your new site hasn't got any of your help documents or setup info.

Your old site wasn't great, but at least it worked...

Worst signup experience ever...
