Still, every network only buys X amount of bandwidth, per X number of customers. 
Unless they have 1:1 and alot of hardware to share the load over multiple links I dont see how they could be certain for network pings not to rise / speeds not to slow as they claim. 


For an ISP which supplies bandwidth to many schools and universities they should have bucket loads of free capacity during the evenings and weekends. They would have a double peak so to speak, one around mid day and then again in the evenings so they should be more than fine to handle users going all out on the weekend.

In fact I wouldn't be too surprised if you saw them doing this on a near monthly basis, doesn't cost them anything more and gets people into the habit of really using their connection which will hopefully result in more data usage over the rest of the month too.

Good job Snap :) and thanks for fixing my issue with my port this morning(Username and password was stuck at the exchange, within 1 hour the chorus techs had released it)

Can't believe how well its' working at the moment. Watching Youtube and downloading, might also turn on Steam and update all my games too :)

Only separate to the point of different traffic management policies. Typically users without any committed rate (think Dialup, xDSL ) will still be allowed to burst above their otherwise normal allocation when excess bandwidth is available.
It would be otherwise silly to have unused bandwidth kicking around while DSL users are demanding it but limited to a hard maximum.  Of course that only applies to the ISPs controlling the aforementioned traffic management policies, and not virtual ISPs etc.

I'd be very surprised if snap did it any differently, but happy to be proven otherwise.

managed to get through about 19 gigs this weekend, most of that was uploading to crash plan at about 350 megs per hour. Still have a fair bit to go but my normal allowance should cover it.

I pulled in about 77GB.... running up to about 10GB per hour- slightly slower than normal. Not much though.

Other than that, No noticeable slow downs.... very good job Snap!
