Hey guys. My shortlist for a small simple smartphone for the missus has got down to two, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus S7500 and the HTC Desire C. The Samsung has the better spec but does not ship with Android 4.1, although it is all over the web that Samsung have 'promised it'. Can any NZ owners out there confirm/deny its availability please? 

I want the phone specifically so she can use the UK BBC iplayer, which will require use of proxy server/VPN. I reckon the newer OS will make this easier to set up. So if the Samsung does not have the update yet then I reckon it will have to be the HTC. But very happy to receive suggestions :)
