nzkiwiboy: does anyone know if the phone comes with a stylus ??

It doesn't come with a stylus. But I have about 10cm of a knitting needle with a rounded tip that I can  use as style us I want. It works fine. But usually I just use my finger. I use the "SlideIt" swiping keyboard and that makes typing easier on the 845.....for me, anyway.

Its a way of typing by 'swiping' your finger across the keyboard:

hugeaction: Does anyone know of a good car charger for this phone?
USB charging is OK...but it can take twice as long as using the phone's power adapter.

Errr not. The device uses a microUSB port to charge off, the car charger will charge just as fast. By using a transformer you're just adding unnecessary steps, wires, bits, heat, etc. IIRC the one I got was <$15.

USB charging allows for up to 1.7 amps of charge current, USB without anything to identify properly as a USB charging spec compliant chargert will only take 500mA. Most car adapters are made for apple not the proper spec so will only go 500mA.

it'd probably pay to pick up an 845's charger and check what output it is, rather than be an 'internet' expert.

Oh it's 400ma by the way ;)

try graffiti with a stylus, once you learn it input on an 845 is a breeze.

It doesn't come with one, but it takes microSD.

Class 6 (ie: fast not slow) 8GB micro SD is pretty cheap thesedays, <$30ish

This Adata model was super cheap, out of stock though now at Ascent (you might be able to find them elsewhere)

My new phone is charging. $178 from Noel Leeming including a sim pack and car charger.

I've skimmed through this thread but would like any advice on do's and don'ts to help me get the best out of the phone. This is my first smart phone.

Which applications available for download/settings can I use to improve any issues known by you geeks?

Thank you Smile

m2 is sonys attempt at being annoying and continuing their dead end memory stick line into mobiles.

Its nothing to do with micro SD, other than being about the same size, doing the same job, but at the same time coming from fewer vendors with corresponding higher prices.

Hi just got this phone sunday warehouse $169 + 2yr extended warranty + 8GB mSD for around $187 ??? must be some promo they had.
But I do have an issue and it is proberly the settings
I have tried provisioning in menu and manual settings but I can not get web access without wifi enabled , however I do live in Tauranga  and only have 2g coverage could this be an issue ??
Apart from that excellent phone ( apart from 2 times where batt had to be removed because of lock up but very possibly my fault )
So can anyone confirm if they have internet access from outside the 3G areas

Many Thanks

Shaun
