I have been experiencing really slow speeds on the Internet in the past few days (both on Mac and wireless on the iPad). Does anyone know if there are any known issues on the network that would be causing this??

Are you on cable or DSL? Where are you?

How many other devices connected to your network?

What else is running on your Mac that could be using the network?

Are you using WiFi in both connections? Can you test with ethernet instead?

I am on cable and have no problems lately.

Thanks - on cable in Petone.

IPad only other device currently connected.

I was using wifi - but have just plugged in the ethernet cable - which has improved things.

Does that mean more likely a problem with the wireless router?

Thanks for the reply

Keep using the wired connection for a while, then test the wireless.

WiFi can suffer interference from other access points, cordless phones, microwave oven, etc. You can try changing the channel - 1, 6, 11 are the best ones to try.

If it shows a good speed on ethernet but not on WiFi then that's more likely to be the problem.

I have noticed Facebook to be very slow at times (using IE). I'm on cable in Petone. No other issues apparent with other websites. Running Windows 8 Pro.
