A little rant regarding our e-mail newsletter
Posted on 28-Jun-2003 10:56 | Tags Filed under: News

Well, just a little rant from my part .

Geekzone sends out an e-mail newsletter every Friday night (New Zealand time). What happens then? Some e-mails bounce back.

Is this that bad? Nope. Some bouce back because the mailbox is full. That's fair enough. But some bounce because with "user not found". That's almost fair enough. Users may have closed an ISP account.

What is not fair enought is two different cases:

  • users who signed up with a fake e-mail and check the "subscribe to newsletter" box. I know who they are because the system sends out an welcome e-mail (with some instructions and your 15% discount code for Handango) and the e-mail bounce back immediately.
  • users signed up with a valid e-mail, check the "subscribe to newsletter" box, enter competitions, send e-mails to me, I personally reply them, and even so the newsletter bounce back. Interesting enough bounced back with Mailwasher messages and features, which is a tool to weed out spam - manually.

Please if you don't want to receive an e-mail newsletter, simply visit the the link below and update your user profile! This will save time to us .
