The annual Pocket PC Magazine Awards is on again, and they now have a list of nominees on-line.
Pocket PC magazine has published the list of nominations for its Third Annual Best Software Awards. Over 400 pieces of end-user Windows Mobile� Pocket PC software have been nominated in categories ranging from Action Games to Calculators to Music Composition to Bibles. The process began in May, when Pocket PC magazine editors and their Board of Experts started with over 1600 pieces of Pocket PC software from the Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories database, http://www.pocketpcmag.com/encyclopedia.asp.
This year, in addition to judging End-User Pocket PC software, experts will choose winners in the following Windows Mobile software categories: Smartphone, Developer, Health, and Enterprise Deployment. Also, for the first time this year, Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone users can discuss the nominations by visiting the Awards Nomination section at the Pocket PC magazine discussion forum at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/forum/default.asp?CAT_ID=10.
Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone experts from throughout the world have joined the Pocket PC magazine Board of Experts http://www.pocketpcmag.com/awards/board_of_experts.asp. These experts are authors of Pocket PC books, Pocket PC magazine contributors, Microsoft Pocket PC MVPs, Support Forum helpers, and associates of top Windows Mobile Web sites.
The nominations will be finalized on July 31, 2003. In August, over 50 experts will cast their ballots for best software. Award finalists will be announced in September. Winners will be honored in a ceremony on October 22 during the Pocket PC Summit, http://www.pocketpcsummit.com, held in partnership with the CTIA Wireless IT and Entertainment show, http://www.wirelessit.com/general, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Pocket PC magazine 2004 Buyer�s Guide, available in September, will include descriptions of the nominated products. Award winners will be recognized in the January 2004 issue.
