The Inquirer reported that in Mumbai it's possible to get unlimited GPRS usage for a mere 99 rupees a month.
That's pretty much US$2 or £1.25 a month. And this is by Orange, brand managed by Hutchison in India.
The Inquirer notes that this is part of the same group that runs the 3 network in the UK, and I add Australia and Italy (soon Hong Kong). Plus this isn't a cut down service as they get three time slots for downloading data out of a possible maximum of five slots.
