According to a recent survey done on the US government’s patent and trademark website, 47 companies are vying for the ownership of the trademark “Hotspot.” Some, like carrier T-Mobile (78223242), are already using Hotspot as a service mark although approval is still pending. Others, like Lucent (75462970), have made claims to this name since early 1998.
