iPAQ H5450 wi-fi update available from HP

Posted on 15-Aug-2003 19:43 | Filed under: News

HP released an update to fix a problem where the iPaq H5450 is not capable of connecting to a WLAN AP that supports both 802.11b and 802.11g.

The patch corrects this and add some functionality:

  • Enables connect with a WLAN Access Point that supports both 802.11b and 802.11g.
  • Adds LEAP authentication client support.
  • Firmware Update can run under Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2003.

    There are some prerequisites, though:

  • For Pocket PC 2002, the ROM update v1.11.xx must be installed first before the WLAN firmware update is installed. DO NOT install the WLAN firmware update before installing ROM update v1.11.xx.
  • Synchronization software such as Microsoft ActiveSync 3.5 or later.
