AlphaSmart and DataViz announced plans to offer DataViz's Documents To Go Professional to Alphasmart's Palm OS based Dana. Geekzone published a review of Dana before.
Documents To Go will support Dana's widescreen and be offered as a bundled software option for new versions of Dana and Dana Wireless. Documents To Go with Dana widescreen support enables Palm users to work with Microsoft Office documents, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
"Documents To Go is a best-of-breed product that complements the capabilities of Dana, making it an even more attractive option for educators who are looking to bring technology to the classroom in a way that?s cost-effective," said Manish Kothari, CEO of AlphaSmart.
Together, Documents To Go and Dana give students the tools to improve learning. Dana's full-size, integrated keyboard, rugged, lightweight design and long battery life are well-suited for students' use in the classroom, around campus, on field trips or at home for writing and reading assignments. In addition to formatting productivity applications for Dana's widescreen, Documents To Go features powerful outlining features such as bullets, numbering, and table support that let students perform a variety of tasks and facilitate writing and editing skills, from taking notes in class, to organizing data from science experiments in a spreadsheet, to reviewing classroom presentations.
