Have you ever attempted to start up a wireless ActiveSync session only to find that your Pocket PC's networking components haven't quite initialized yet? Ever wanted to check that you were still connected to your wireless network or verify that you were assigned a proper IP address but didn't want to go back to the Today screen to find out? Then NetNotify is for you!
This program was born purely out of frustration at the difficulty of determining what the device's current IP address is or whether the Pocket PC is even connected to the network. Many networking drivers provide this information, but it is often buried under some dialog or accessible only from the Today screen. With NetNotify, all that difficulty is eliminated.
NetNotify lives entirely within the Pocket PC 2002 Notification interface. While this requires that Pocket PC 2002 be running on your device, it also means that the program is completely out of your way when you don't need it, but always accessible with just a single tap when you do. What's more, NetNotify allows you to individually configure the notifications it displays to your specifications. You can receive as much or as little information as you like simply by spending a few moments in the program's options screen.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To be compatible with all networking devices, NetNotify relies on the Pocket PC operating system to determine the current connection state of your device. Some wireless networking drivers send information to the operating system that looks as if the device is connected when really it is not. However, these false addresses are easy to distinguish.
NetNotify makes use of the Notification feature of Pocket PC 2002 to constantly keep you informed of the state of your network connection. Quickly determine your device's IP address with a single tap and be notified the instant your network connection drops or changes!
