Skweezer integrated into school district’s wireless initiative
Greenlight Wireless Corporation announced that the Lake Havasu Unified School District will be incorporating Greenlight Wireless’ Skweezer service, which dynamically reformats Web content for use on small-screen displays, into their current wireless initiative. LHUSD will be providing wireless-enabled PDA’s to 175 students and teachers during the upcoming program, which is designed to evaluate the usefulness of Pocket PC’s in the classroom.

The LHUSD study spans elementary, middle, and high school students and will compare measurable outcomes between classes of students who use Pocket PC’s and similar classes of students without the technology. Data will be collected about the differences in keyboarding skills, homework completion, attendance, and academic attainment (standardized test scores and writing skills). The study will also investigate student attitudes and motivation regarding their schoolwork when given the opportunity to use Pocket PC’s.

The school district will be using a Skweezer Team Account, which provides an administrative console to manage blocks of Skweezer users and monitor the group’s bandwidth consumption. Special pricing is available for educational and government institutions, as well as qualified non-profit organizations.
