Application Design and UI Considerations for Mobile Devices

This presentation will explain the design principles, both interaction and UI, that can be used when writing software for mobile devices; touching upon the similarities and differences between the desktop and the device, the difference in user expectations and abilities, and differences between PocketPC and Smartphone devices. In addition an example mobile application will be taken from initial conception to final design outlining the use and application of these design principles.

Building an End-to-End Application with the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework

This session will explain the platform and development tools that are part of mobile device application development when using the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework. This session will illustrate how to build an end-to-end application that utilizes the .NET Compact Framework, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition 2.0, Microsoft .NET Web services, and SQL Server 2000 using C# and Microsoft Visual Basic .NET.
