Opera released their latest Opera 6.2 for Symbian UIQ (Sony Ericsson P800). This is not an update for the Opera browser released for the Morotola A920 (which runs signed applications only).
The new version provides new features such as refinements in SSR (Small-Screen Rendering), particularly in zooming, full-screen mode, introducing improvements in frames and windows handling, a new "save image" feature, as well as numerous bug fixes.
"User reaction to Opera has been fabulous," says Lars Lindstrom, global product manager, Sony Ericsson. "The combination of Opera, the large colour touch-screen and variety of input methods available on the P800 is simply wonderful."
Opera's browser for the P800 has been downloaded by hundreds of thousands since its initial release in February 2003. The phone represented the first commercial breakthrough for Opera's Small-Screen Rendering (SSR) technology, which made the Web useful on small mobile screens for the first time by eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling through page reformatting.
