Vodafone GPRS roaming now as flat fee in Europe

Vodafone has simplified the pricing scheme for data roaming in Europe. Individual services such as picture messaging (MMS) or remote access will now be charged at flat rates when roaming. The new charging structure will deliver simplicity, predictability and transparency to Vodafone customers.

10 countries initially will offer the new data pricing structure: Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, UK, Austria (Mobilkom Austria - a Vodafone partner network) and France (SFR - a Vodafone associate).

All these countries will be able to offer new data pricing from 1 October 2003 with the exception of Austria (31 October 2003), France (29 October 2003) and Germany (27 November 2003).

It's not clear if this applies to Vodafone customers coming from outside Europe, like New Zealand and Australia.
