Like research companies said before camera mobile phones will probably be the big electronic gift this year - and Motorola wants to be there when it happens.
Mike Zafirovski, President and Chief Operating Officer of Motorola said today "the company is well positioned for the holiday sales season, with many of its new cell phones featuring the color screens and integrated cameras that are popular with consumers all over the world."
Consistent with the company's prior guidance for its Personal Communications Segment (PCS), 15 new phones have begun to ship during the third quarter, 9 featuring color screens and 4 of these 9 also featuring integrated cameras. Zafirovski said that PCS sales for the third quarter are expected to increase at least 20 percent over second-quarter sales, and its operating margins, excluding special items, will improve.
I wonder if the Motorola MPx200 running Windows Mobile Smartphone OS is in this list.
