Users of Nokia 3650 connected to the TIM GPRS network now have access to TV content on their mobile phones. An access to the service is avaialble through their WAP pages.
The service itself is free until 31 December 2003, with a traffic cost of EUR 0.04/KB. There's a small program (7KB) to install.
Initially the TV channels are La 7, MTV, CFN/CNBC (Class Financial Network) and the new Coming Soon, AnicaFlash's satellite theme channel dedicated to the cinema.
TIM has 26 million subscribers and promisses to will launch UMTS services in the coming months covering 90% of the major Italian cities: Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Naples, Palermo, Cagliari, Florence and Venice. Current Italian competition in 3G is represented by 3.
