Toshiba released information that it will exhibit a range of innovative products and technologies during the ITU Telecom World 2003. The major telecommunication trade show will be held at Geneva Palexpo, Switzerland, from 12 to 18 October. Could this be the mysterious partner Microsoft will announce 8th October?
TOshiba's press release says "A pioneer in mobile computing and a leader in electronic devices, Toshiba brings a commitment to excellence and innovation in the development of products and technologies that deliver "Ubiquitous Access for a Networked Society." The quadrennial ITU Telecom World provides Toshiba with an excellent forum for showcasing its recent advances in numerous areas-including system-on-chips, display devices, the latest mobile terminals, wireless LAN solutions, an optical distribution system, leading-edge data transfer technology and mobile broadcasting system... Product presentations and video demonstrations will showcase the latest mobile phones for markets around the world. The handsets on display embody Toshiba's AVC5 guiding concept of audio, visual, computer, camera, card, communication and content."
Toshiba supplies CDMA mobile phones for the Chinese market, but also is involved in a partnership with Audiovox on its Thera Pocket PC Phone Edition.
Update: since this story was published it was made public that Siera Wireless, with its Voq Professional is the new Windows Mobile licensee.
