NZ Herald publishes content for handheld devices

Posted on 30-Jan-2003 18:19 | Filed under: News

Did you know you can have the NZ Herald news in the palm of your hands?

If you have a Pocket PC or a Palm you can subscribe to two different services: Headline news and Crosswords.

It uses the RoundPoint service to deliver content. The content is updated every day, 5am, 9am, noon, 3pm 6pm and 11pm (all New Zealand time GMT+12). The Roudnpoint client is an offline browser, i.e. the content is downloaded to your Pocket Pc or Palm, so you can browse it later, while disconnected from the network.

The Headline news service costs NZ$ 9.99/month and the Crossword service is NZ$ 15.00/month. There's a free month for trial.

The Roundpoint client makes a reference to Lord of The Rings: its codename is Lothlorien!
