The HTC One M9 smartphone coming to New Zealand 7 April
HTC has announced the New Zealand launch of its most personal and powerful smartphone yet, the HTC One M9. The latest generation of the globally-acclaimed HTC One family, the HTC One M9 will be available from all New Zealand carriers and major phone retailers from 7 April.

The new HTC One M9 brings together design and engineering excellence, combining premium jewellery grade finish and incredible imaging with 20MP main camera, UltraPixel front camera, 4K video capture and professional editing tools.

The device also boasts a enhanced audio experience with Dolby Audio surround sound and the freedom to personalise your smartphone experience. HTC One M9 offers flexibility to support up to 260GB storage today and enabled for higher capacity micro SD cards up to 2TB in the future.

"HTC pioneered all-metal unibody design on smartphones. We have meticulously refined over many years, every aspect to deliver the pure luxury you see on the HTC One M9.” said Ben Hodgson, Country Manager, HTC Australia and New Zealand. “And our customers have been clear, they want the freedom that comes with expandable storage.”

The HTC One M9 melds the best of the award-winning HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 models into an iconic design. Distinct metal edges combine with graceful curves for a jewellery-grade look. The crafted, single piece all-metal unibody design is highlighted by an exquisite, industry first dual-tone silver and rose gold colours that are distinctive and durable. Mirror-polished gold sides cascade into a hairline brushed silver back, encasing its display.

The new HTC Sense 7 experience puts the user in control with highly customisable HTC Themes that intelligently analyses your favourite photos to modify the look and feel of your apps, colour scheme and backgrounds.

HTC Sense 7 reinvents the home screen to deliver useful apps to the homepage based on your location, whether at home, work, or play, An enhanced HTC BlinkFeed also makes it easier to uncover the hidden gems that surround you by using location data to recommend points of interest, news and information.

In terms of imaging, the HTC One M9’s cameras are designed to capture every moment with high quality. The main camera features an 20 megapixels that accentuate every crisp, intricate detail and a sapphire glass lens that protects from scratches. The camera also shoots movies in 4K resolution.

A host of new editing effects including Shapes, Prismatic, Elements and Bokeh allow you to add a little bit of individual artistry into every shot, with the Zoe app automatically editing them, adding your choice of music and letting friends remix the collection with their own shots to create a shared celebration from every moment.

To improve the user experience when handling images and photos, the new HTC One Gallery makes it easy to search through your entire photo library, viewing images saved on the phone, on social media, and on select cloud platforms. The gallery puts your whole image library at your fingertips, searching by date, location, event, album or even the images themselves with Image Match.

HTC BoomSound takes advantage of the dual front-facing speakers, combined with 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound simulation, to get you even closer to the action, delivering a multidimensional cinematic listening.

The HTC One M9 will be available in dual-tone Silver and Rose Gold from all New Zealand carriers and major retailers from 7 April.
