Braintree announces expansion into New Zealand
Posted on 24-Apr-2015 20:47 | Tags Filed under: News

Braintree, the payment processing platform by PayPal is expanding again, this time to New Zealand. Less than two months after announcing plans for an APAC launch into Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, the company announced its expansion into New Zealand.

The global payments company provides gateway services and merchant support, coupled with easy access to features like the ability to accept relevant payment methods, frictionless buying, recurring billing, fraud tools and more with just one integration.

Braintree offers full-stack payments platform that makes it easy to accept payments in apps or websites. From one touch payments to mobile SDKs and foreign currency acceptance, the platform provides everything needed to start accepting payments with minimum coding.

“New Zealand has a vibrant startup and innovation community, and Braintree committed to expand here as a result of the support and encouragement of the community,” said Tyson Hackwood, Head of APAC, Braintree.

“We look forward to seeing the use of the capabilities of the products within businesses who are ‘leading change’, locally in New Zealand, regionally and globally. Additionally, this is an important step as we now have the opportunity to offer a ‘Trans Tasman’ solution, extending the capability in the region.”

Starting today, Braintree is opening up its pilot program for New Zealand-based merchants. Once approved, merchants will be able to accept credit/debit cards and PayPal online and on mobile devices through the Braintree v.zero SDK.
