To celebrate the launch of its extended coverage on Lambton Quay, CaféNET and the Wellington City Council are offering free use of CaféNET's wi-fi network every weekend in December 2003.
Also during this month users of the wireless provider who log in and use the network will automatically qualify for the draw to win a Sony Clie PUG-UX50. The prize-winner will be drawn on 12 January 2003 and notified by email that day.
The official launch of this project will be on Friday 5 December 2003 with the presence of the Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast. This will be followed by live demonstrations of how the CaféNET “Lambton Quay Extension” can be used for internet access, VPN to corporate LAN, access to traffic webcams, Wi-Fi phones, wireless videoconferencing, GIS mapping using handhelds (in this case with HP iPAQ) and Wi-Fi online games. A selection of new technology devices will also be on display.
Geekzone has previously published a review of CaféNET's services in Wellington.
More information on this promotion is available on CaféNET's Love is in the air webpage.
