Vodafone slows down plans for release of Windows Mobile Smartphone

In an interview on the Financial Time, Mr Arun Sarim, CEO of Vodafone PLC was quoted as saying "In our view, it's not quite ready for prime time.", regarding the Microsoft Windows Mobile smartphone platform.
Vodafone is conducting tests for network acceptance and Vodafone live! integration with the Microsoft mobile platform for some time now. Geekzone published an article a few months ago when we first saw a Microsoft based smartphone connected to the Vodafone NZ network.
Both companies are partners in an initiative to add mobile Web services to applications, announced during the Microsoft Developers Conference 2003.
According to the Financial Times Vodafone's CEO completed with "Hopefully, they're [Microsoft] working to solve some of the issues that we have and in time, when they're ready, we'd be very open to talk to them".
