SAP has announced the availability of the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud in New Zealand, an offering established with SAP Premium Supplier partner Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). This is the first cloud service of its kind in New Zealand and will enable local businesses and government agencies to vastly simplify their IT requirements.
The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud provides the real-time capabilities of SAP’s in-memory platform, SAP HANA, in a private, fully managed cloud. This offers elasticity and flexibility with all-inclusive subscription-based pricing for SAP software and infrastructure. Users can also run any SAP HANA workload – including the flagship SAP S/4HANA suite of business applications – through the platform.
Graeme Riley, Managing Director, SAP New Zealand, said: “The capabilities of SAP HANA, combined with the ability to run mission-critical business applications in a cloud environment, are enabling New Zealand businesses and its public sector to transform digitally and run live.
“The new service also addresses the requirements of many New Zealand organisations that are eager to move to the cloud, but have concerns with hosting data offshore.”
“Hewlett Packard Enterprise is dedicated to providing a technologically advanced, low-risk solution to businesses in New Zealand that leverages the significant R&D HPE has committed to the SAP platform,” said Keith Watson, Managing Director, Hewlett Packard Enterprise New Zealand. “HPE's solutions and services for SAP HANA help complete a managed cloud offering for SAP customers in New Zealand, helping them effectively manage sophisticated SAP HANA workloads in real-time.”
The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud service is highly scalable to meet customer demand. HPE has designed and built a fully-managed robust infrastructure solution that integrates compute, storage, and networking resources, and HPE Software, all managed by HPE’s Critical Watch Centre. The service also supports a full range of cloud deployment options, including fully managed and hybrid.
This investment is part of SAP’s global strategy to provide full security and regional data compliance to all its customers. The company is building up its service offerings to clients across Australia and New Zealand, which includes existing SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud services in Sydney and Canberra, which opened in April 2014 and April 2016 respectively.
