CellStar shows the PocketSurfer Bluetooth web browser device
Cellstar has published a website where it's showing a new mobile device aimed to web browsing use only. The device comes with a large screen, mouse, keyboard and connects to mobile networks via mobile phone using built-in Bluetooth.

It's expected that the PocketSurfer will be available to retailers the 3Q 2004. Pricing is expected to begin at US$199.00, plus an internet service access fee.

The product weight is only 170g, with a 640 pixels (wide) screen. Dimensions are 5.98" x 2.97" x 0.58" (with lid closed). The software is compatible with switched data networks (GSM, CDMA) and packet data networks (GPRS, CDMA 2000 1x, IDEN).

The web site contains no more details at the moment, although the company replies to e-mail requests and sends out a brochure in .pdf format.
