SEGA expands mobile content business in North America

Sega Corporation announced the launch of its mobile content for the Verizon Wireless "Get It Now" mobile Internet service. Sega expects that the Verizon content, which becomes available on 1 February 2004, will enhance the company's Mobile Content Business in North America.

Verizon Wireless is the largest mobile operator in North America with over 36 million subscribers (as of 30 September 2003). Sega will start the provision of Snowboarding, Pengo, Flicky, Fast Lane, with prices set for download or monthly use.

The company has provided game content to mobile carriers in North America since partnering with Sprint PCS in August 2002. Sega already provides mobile content for other mobile operators in the USA, including AT&T Wireless, ALLTEL, Bell Mobility, T-Mobile and Qwest Wireles.
