Vodafone New Zealand to deploy ADC's Metrica for network performance management
Vodafone New Zealand will deploy ADC's new generation Metrica Performance Manager for Vodafone's GSM and GPRS networks throughout the Pacific region. In particular, Vodafone New Zealand will use the software to monitor the network performance and the quality of services delivered to all of Vodafone customers in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

Metrica will provide Vodafone New Zealand with a consolidated view of key performance indicators, giving the service provider comprehensive visibility of network quality and utilisation. With this information, Vodafone New Zealand will be able to run its networks at maximum efficiency, maintaining its highly competitive service quality while dynamically deploying capacity to match potential growth in demand. It will also provide the tools needed to help detect both long-term and immediate problems and distinguish between service-affecting and non-service-affecting network-quality issues.

"Our contract with Vodafone New Zealand represents a further milestone for our service assurance business as it marks the deployment of Metrica solutions at 10 properties within the Vodafone Group," said David Heaps, senior vice president of Software Systems Business Unit and general manager of the Metrica group for ADC. "Vodafone New Zealand is an exciting opportunity for us and we look forward to working with this company now and as it introduces new 3G services in future."
