Telefonica Movile Espana starts 3G services in Spain
The company will start 3G services in Spain from 13 February 2004, with an approach similar to Vodafone in the rest of Europe: first servicing data users, with a 3G/GPRS PC Card for laptops.

The service, called "Oficin@ MoviStar UMTS" promissed data speeds of up to 384kbps.

The pakckage contains a PCMCIA UMTS/GPRS card including a MoviStar branded USIM. In its initial release customers have an allowance of 150 MB for the frist three months, to try the service. Users can switch between 3G and GPRS depending of network coverage.

The first users to receive the official package are the current beta testers. Currently more than 500 companies are part of the trials, that started in October 2003. More the 2,500 cards were used in the trials.
