Verizon Wireless and Kodak join to offer mobile services

Posted on 13-Feb-2004 09:37 | Filed under: News

The Kodak Mobile Service will be available to Verizon Wireless' Get It Now customers. With this service, offered through Kodak's Ofoto subsidiary, Verizon Wireless customers will be able to view, share, organize, and store their digital photos on-line.

Verizon Wireless and Kodak plan to launch a series of marketing programs and new service offerings in the coming weeks. Verizon Wireless customers who have a Get It Now-capable camera phone will be able to download the Kodak Mobile Service application to their phone.

Launched in November 2003, the Kodak Mobile Service offers camera phone users anytime, anywhere access to their digital photos and phone-captured video. With KODAK Mobile Service, users can:

  • Store and organize all their pictures and phone-captured video in one location;
  • Share their digital and mobile pictures and stories with friends and family right from their camera phone;
  • View and organize images, including photos from family and friends, on a computer or phone.

    The service is currently available free for trial initially to customers in the U.S. After the trial, customers can subscribe to the service on a monthly or annual basis through a participating carrier or directly through Kodak Mobile Service.
