Fujitsu launches first Bluetooth 1.2 device
Posted on 4-Mar-2004 08:00 | Tags Filed under: News

CSR announced that a notebook PC from Fujitsu is using its BlueCore silicon and has just qualified to version 1.2 of the Bluetooth specification. This is the first end-product to qualify to v1.2, an improved specification which brings connectivity enhancement to Bluetooth but retains backwards compatibility with existing v1.1 Bluetooth products.

The new product is the Fujitsu LifeBook S7010 laptop. CSR's v1.2 BlueCore includes the new Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) technology. AFH minimizes interference between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios when operating in the same environment, making it ideal for use in a busy RF environment, such as in Wireless LAN offices and hotspots. CSR's Bluetooth v1.2 solution also employs Fast Connect, which improves the usability of Bluetooth devices by reducing device discovery times.
