Quest Apartment Hotels New Zealand launches app keycard service

Quest Apartment Hotel’s guests can now enter their room with digital keys which will be made available through Quest’s hotel app. Digital keys allow guests to securely bypass traditional check-in methods giving them instant access to their room when it is ready, eliminating the need to go to the front desk and retrieve a physical key card. Guests can easily open the Quest app on their mobile device, digitally check in and tap the key function to access their room.

The Quest app is part of an initiative to implement contactless solutions and additionally improve the guest experience; however, Adrian Turner, Quest Group General Manager, is ensuring the brand does not lose its personal touch. Every new app user gets an email from Turner himself when they sign up, welcoming them to the Quest user family. In turn, they have his email address should they have any feedback or questions.

Earlier this year, Quest approached Liverton, an innovation-focused company, to build a certified digital key integration to their existing mobile application. They created a digital key platform with security and functionality in mind. Quest guests can feel confident to use the digital platform safely while providing a seamless user experience.

Adrian Turner, Quest Group General Manager, says: “When we launched the Quest app in 2019, it was to make booking a room at Quest easy. As the app evolves we are always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience at Quest. The addition of this technology will allow a Quest guest to access the property and their room seamlessly, especially after hours. This is available now in at Quest Mt Eden, Quest Takapuna, Quest Palmerston North and Quest Parnell and we will be working with all our other properties to upgrade their locking systems to take advantage of this technology.”

Liverton CEO, Justin De Lille, comments: “We are proud to have invested in the relationship with Quest and building out their digital key capability inside their Quest App. The functionality will allow Quest guests to check-in remotely, access their rooms with their digital key and allow franchisee operators to reduce staffing costs and streamline operations.”

The Quest app is available on both Apple and Android devices.
