BSQUARE to provide VoIP system integration for Windows Mobile devices
Posted on 1-Apr-2004 10:18 | Filed under: News

BSQUARE will release some advanced systems integration services for smart devices implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), telephony, and wireless communications protocols. Leveraging the company's deep expertise in Microsoft Windows CE and Windows Mobile software platforms as well as with emerging communications technologies, BSQUARE is working closely with leading device OEMs to ensure timely delivery of go-to-market VoIP-enabled phones and other smart devices.

"Faced with the growing complexity of integrating new communications protocols for small form factor smart devices, OEMs are increasingly seeking out BSQUARE to supplement their internal resources with critical path expertise," said Carey Butler, vice president of professional engineering services at BSQUARE. "With our advanced capabilities in platform software engineering, application software engineering and user interface development, we provide expert advice and cost-effective integration services for device makers looking to expand into the rapidly growing VoIP marketplace.

"The Microsoft Windows CE platform is ideal for enabling voice applications on smart devices, such as desktop and wireless phones, IP set-top boxes, residential gateways, and thin clients," said Jane Gilson, group product manager of the Embedded Devices group at Microsoft Corp.

The company says they have recently completed a successful service engagement with a leading communications device OEM enabling VoIP integration with a customer relationship management solution on a Windows CE-based platform.
