Orange UK creates a flat-fee GPRS plan

Posted on 14-Feb-2003 08:33 | Filed under: News

Orange, UK's largest cell phone group by customer numbers, says it wants to increase the amount of mobile data that corporate customers are accessing over GPRS by offering fixed-rate packages.

Orange is offering a range of new data packages for its business customers which range from around 30 per month to 45 per month. Voice services are additional.

A 30-per-month data package, called Orange Office Freedom, allows each customer to download around 30 megabytes of data each month, equivalent to about 200 emails per day, or 100 emails and 20, averaged-sized attachments per day.

The 45-per-month deal, called GPRS Business Internet, allows customers to use 100 megabytes per month, similar to reading about 100 emails with 40 attachments and 20 company intranet and Internet pages per day.

Orange's website is still showing the old pricing plan.
