Bluetooth stack update for Toshiba Pocket PC
Toshiba EMEA released the Bluetooth Stack driver V4.01 for Pocket PCs e740, e750, and e800. The documentation says these drivers are supported on Pocket PC OS 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003.

Supported Profiles include:

  • BNEP [Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol (general base profile for PAN profiles)]
  • PAN-User [PANU: Private Area Networking User (Profile)]
  • Generic Access [GAP: Generic Access Profile]
  • Serial-DevA [SPP: Serial Port Profile (Serial Dev-A==Client]
  • Serial-DevB [SPP: Serial Port Profile (Serial Dev-A==Client, Serial Dev-B==Server)]
  • OPP-Client [OPP: Oject Push Profile]
  • OPP-Server [OPP: Oject Push Profile]
  • FT-Client [FTP: File Transfer Profile]
  • FT-Server [FTP: File Transfer Profile]
  • DUN-DT [DUN: DialUp Networking (Profile) (DUN-DT = = DUN-Data Terminal = = Client]
  • LAN-DT [LAP: LAN Access Profile (LAP-DT==LAP-Data Terminal==Client)]

    Additional features:

  • Scatternet [Support of muliple Bluetooth connections (up to 7) at the same time]
  • SDIO Now! [new SD-Interface Standard]

The documentation says that changes of Bluetooth Stack from 4.0 to 4.01 include no new features, and only minor bug fixes. Changes of Bluetooth Stack from 3.10 to 4.0 include:
  • PAN profile were added
  • Some ActiveSync settings were added
  • Bluetooth profiles can be enabled and disabled
  • Improved assignment of COM ports to Bluetooth profiles

There are some restrictions on Scatternet, and not all hardware will support this feature. The .zip file also includes a Bluetooth User's Guide in .pdf format.
