Intellisync launches desktop synchronization for Windows Mobile Smartphones
Posted on 22-Apr-2004 07:56 | Tags Filed under: News

Intellisync Corp's Intellisync desktop synchronization software now supports Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Smartphones.

The company says initially it'll provide desktop synchronization for the Motorola MPx200 phone from AT&T Wireless and the Samsung SCH-i600 from Verizon Wireless, although I can't see why it wouldn't work with other Windows Mobile Smartphone, including the i-mate Smartphone2, O2 XPhone and Orange SPV E200. The product also works with virtually all other key mobile device platforms, including handhelds based on the Palm OS and Pocket PC platforms.

Working in tandem with Windows Mobile software, Intellisync provides Smartphone users with two-way, desktop-based synchronization of email, calendar, contacts and tasks with popular PC applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, ACT! and more. The new Smartphone synchronization capabilities will be offered through the Company's Intellisync Handheld Edition, Intellisync Handheld Edition for Enterprise and Intellisync Software Development Platform products.

Intellisync desktop-based synchronization software is available in multiple languages, including German, French, Spanish (Latin American) and Italian, in addition to U.S. English. The latest version of the software is the first multi-lingual Intellisync product to offer compatibility with Windows Mobile 2003 handhelds, along with the Outlook 2003, Lotus Notes 6.5 and GroupWise 6.5 PC applications.
