Ring has announced that they are enhancing their camera lineup with 2K video capabilities.
2K video resolution will soon be available on Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro. While Ring’s existing HD Video delivers crisp resolution, 2K will provide better sharpness and texture quality for enhanced detail and clarity.
Ring Vision is at the heart of all Ring’s image quality. It combines software, hardware and Ring’s internal expertise to ensure balanced colour, contrast and motion smoothing so customers can see each moment in detail.
Beginning January 8, 2025, the 2K video option will be available on Floodlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro. Existing customers can upgrade their Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro to 2K resolution at no added cost through the Ring app.
Ring also announced vehicle detection, which notifies customers when a moving vehicle is detected in the field of view on select Ring doorbells and cameras. This new Smart Alerts feature is available to customers with a Ring Home subscription plan.
Vehicle Detection will begin rolling out today and will be available to all customers with eligible devices in the coming weeks, including:
