Siemens offer SpectraLink Wi-Fi handsets
Siemens has expanded a partnetship with SpectraLink Corporation, to provide O&M Wi-Fi wireless telephones as part of the HiPath Convergence Portfolio of products.

Two handset models will be available: the optiPoint WL1 professional is targeted at general enterprise applications, and the optiPoint W1 professional is designed for healthcare, retail, and industrial markets.

NetLink Wireless Telephones operate as client devices on wireless LANs utilizing the IEEE 802.11b standard, allowing converged mobile voice and data applications on a single wireless infrastructure. SpectraLink Voice Priority (SVP), a quality of service (QoS) mechanism, is employed on the wireless LAN to ensure excellent voice quality with minimal impact on data throughput. NetLink Wireless Telephones integrate with the best-selling PBX systems, and support proprietary IP protocols as well as H.323 for enterprise wireless VoIP solutions.
