Sony New Zealand offers free on-line storage
Posted on 17-May-2004 23:46 | Tags Filed under: News

Sony New Zealand announced My Sony Image Store, an on-line service allowing users to store and share their digital images. Launching on the 14th June 2004, the free on-line image storage is for all new and existing owners of Sony digital still cameras.

This new facility is the latest addition to the My Sony website. The website is an interactive, Sony owner-focused site that provides expert product advice, forums, competitions, weekly auctions and a complete Sony consumer electronics online store. In addition, members earn points within the site which can be used to order Sony rewards.

Anyone who owns a Sony product can join My Sony. Membership is free and is as simple as completing an online form available on My Sony website, and registering a Sony product. All My Sony members will be eligible for 20MB of free storage space or 100MB if a Sony digital still camera has been registered on the site. In addition, all members can purchase further 100MB blocks of storage space for periods of a year.

The company says that additional features and developments are being planned, including a print and burn to CD service.
