The company behind the Sprite series of backup software for Windows Mobile devices is based in New Zealand, and they're the core team behind the PC product now known as Norton Ghost.
After sellington Ghost to Symantec, they started writing software for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, and some iPAQ versions incorporate this product as part of the bundled packages.
Australian web site Mtekk published a review of their new product, a backup solution for Windows Mobile Smartphones. Interesting to note that ActiveSync doesn't provide a Backup feature for Smartphone, like the one available for Pocket PC. This software covers this, and not only provides backup to memory card, but also adds functionality to allow backup to a host computer.
"Sprite backup for Smartphone can only be used on Smartphones that can run unsigned applications. It is not specified whether it will work correctly on both WM2002 and 2003. I tested with an Xphone (which is Windows Mobile 2003 based) and besides a few glitches, it seems to run perfectly."
