Australian mobile operator Optus Mobile and FujiFilm launched a new printing service for mobile photo messages. Optus Mobile customers can send a photo from their mobile phone camera via multi-media messaging (MMS) to the Optus Zoo website, where an online order can be placed with FujiFilm.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said the service complemented the increasing popularity of camera phones and MMS. "With more than 55 percent of handsets shipped to our retail channels now camera enabled, it makes sense to offer our customers the option to print some of their most treasured mobile shots. The service is set apart by its user-friendly features, and is another example of how Optus works with high quality partners - such as FUJIFILM Australia - to deliver greater mobile services to its customers," Mr Lew said.
Standard MMS pricing of AU$0.75 per message sent will apply to photo messages sent to the Optus Zoo website. Customers who choose to order photographs will be charged an additional AU$0.45 for each print, plus AU$1.55 postage and handling. Prints are delivered to a customer’s nominated address or nearest FujiFilm store within a week.
