Hacking the Philips streamium?
Well, coincidences are funny things... Just yesterday I read on Slashdot an article about hacking the Philips Streamium. And today I read that a NZ telco provider is giving away 10 Philips Streamium in a prize draw for new users of its xDSL product. I didn't even know this product was available in New Zealand. The promotion is for connections made until 31st of Mar 2003 and only if a certain ISP is used.

Anyway, the /. article is about this guy who was tired of only having access to "approved" content. So he managed to reverse engineer the protocol used by the Philips Streamium, and created a set of PERL codes to control the player!

Have a look in the article linked below for more info and access the site with full instructions!
