New Garmin iQue 3200 Palm OS based PDA/GPS
Garmin International Inc., has introduced the iQue 3200, its second Palm Powered PDA that offer integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. These products combine the portability of a PDA and the utility of an automotive navigation system.

"The iQue 3200 is designed for individuals who simply want a device that can manage their personal information and deliver personal navigation in a single unit," said Gary Kelley, Garmin's director of marketing. "Beyond organization and navigation, the iQue 3200 boasts a bright display, long battery life and Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) capabilities for added functionality at an attractive price."

Like the iQue 3600, the iQue 3200 features Garmin's Que technology. This set of applications provides the user with the benefits of GPS navigation, including pinpoint location awareness on an electronic map, automatic route generation, off-route recalculation, turn-by-turn directions and voice guidance. Que technology fully integrates organization and navigation capabilities in the iQue 3200, allowing users to attach a "location stamp" to a contact in their Address Book or an appointment in their Date Book. The user can then follow voice prompts along a series of turns to the selected location.

Garmin includes an automotive navigation kit as a standard accessory that simultaneously powers the unit and recharges the battery via the power outlet in a vehicle.

  • Operating system: Palm OS 5.2
  • Processor: 200 MHz Motorola DragonBall MXL
  • Unit size (WxHxD)/weight: 2.8" x 5.0" x 0.8" / 5.2 oz.
  • Display information: 320x320-pixel, transflective TFT with 16-bit color display; bright white LED backlight; dedicated Graffiti writing area and usable screen area of 3.0" (diagonal)
  • Internal Memory: 32 MB SDRAM
  • Expandable Memory: Secure Digital slot with SDIO capability
  • Battery: Rechargeable lithium-ion battery

The iQue 3200 is expected to be available in early August 2004 at a suggested retail price of US$535.70. It will ship standard with a MapSource City Select CD, USB recharging synchronization cradle, AC adapter, automotive windshield mount with integrated charger and speaker, installation CD with owner's manual, and quick-reference guide.
